As the Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Empowered Education, Eric Neuner is committed to changing the way we approach healthcare and education. To address rapidly increasing chronic illness and mental health issues, he believes it’s time for a radical system change that prioritizes and incentivizes wellness.

For the last 15 years, Eric has been an entrepreneur and founding partner for several industry-leading companies including Trilogy Education Services, Vital Digital Group and Zeta Global. These companies now collectively employee over 1,500 people. Graduates of Trilogy-powered programs have driven more than $1 billion in economic impact. He now serves on the Board of Directors for Trilogy Education Services. Eric began his career developing winning digital marketing campaigns for CDNOW and WebMD.

Eric obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication with an emphasis in Business from Cornell University. In 2014, he left New York City where he was raised and created a purpose-driven community hub and home in San Rafael, CA where he regularly hosts thought leaders and change agents in the Bay Area. Eric learned his passion and values from his parents who were both public school teachers. He enjoys playing the piano, singing, and mountain biking. Of the many hats that he wears, his most cherished role is being father to his 9-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son.

Carey Peters is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) and a Co-Founder of Empowered Education.

She’s founded and co-founded three coach training businesses,taking them from startup to multiple-six-figure and multi-million dollar revenues, including Health Coach Institute, Holistic MBA, and CoachToolsToGo.com.

Along with Empowered Education Co-Founder Stacey Morgenstern, Carey co-created Health Coach Institute’s flagship programs Become A Health Coach and Holistic MBA™: Mastering The Business & The Art Of Coaching, which teach students Health Coach Institute’s proprietary habit change coaching skills and how to use those skills to create lucrative and sustainable money-making coaching businesses.

Since becoming a coach 12 years ago, she has trained and inspired over 21,000 health and personal development coaches from over 30 countries.

Carey guest starred in 25 episodes of the Yahoo web series “Reluctantly Healthy,” hosted by Carey’s health coaching client actress Judy Greer. Carey has been featured in Forbes Magazine, New York Magazine, Fitness Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, The Huffington Post, and more. Carey and co-founder Stacey Morgenstern are the authors of the book The Definitive Guide To Health Coaching.

Currently based in Chicago, Carey holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting from DePaul University. She lives with her husband and her beautiful daughter. Outside of work, Carey enjoys theater, music, art, and stand-up comedy.

Andrea Nakayama is the founder of the Functional Nutrition Alliance. Andrea is an internationally known Functional Medicine Nutritionist, educator, and speaker who is leading a movement to transform the health industry into a system that WORKS, empowering patients and practitioners alike with the systems and tools of Functional Nutrition.

Her passion for this nutrition revolution came as a result of a personal family tragedy. Her young husband, Isamu, was diagnosed with a fatal brain tumor while she was just seven weeks pregnant with their only child. It was in overcoming his prognosis of six months and prolonging his life for another two years that Andrea’s expanding interest in food as personalized medicine became her full-time passion and purpose.

With a background as both a published author and a celebrated Production Director in the publishing houses of San Francisco and New York, Andrea’s skill and passion for the dissemination of knowledge matches her zeal for nutrition as an instrument of healing. Her signature has become delivering profound, high-level, yet entirely accessible experiences to both patients and practitioners, communicating and inspiring in a way that sets her apart from others in her field. Andrea is celebrated as a leader in the field of Functional Nutrition because of her unique ability to teach and inspire practitioners and patients alike. Andrea synthesizes art and science, empathy and physiology, intuition and problem solving, into a system that truly helps people get to the root cause of their illness, create a path towards wellness, and find their way back to life.

Stacey has 10 years of experience in education and is a talented problem solver with expertise in operational strategy and program management. Stacey thrives in entrepreneurial environments where she can unlock growth by bringing order to chaos through creative and simple solutions.

Most recently, Stacey was the Vice President of UX/UI Bootcamps at 2U (TWOU) where she was responsible for the overall health and growth of 2U’s 24-week UX/UI Bootcamp Program, delivered in partnership with some of the most prestigious universities around the world.

In 2016, Stacey joined the founding team as employee #10 at Trilogy Education Services. At the time, Trilogy was a small startup with 1 university partner and 50 active students. Over the next 5 years, Trilogy would grow to become a $100M+ business, partnering with 50 of the most recognizable universities around the world to offer skills-based education programs to career changers looking to break into technical fields. Stacey held a number of progressive leadership roles at Trilogy and worked closely with the COO to build and scale the organization as it steadily grew.

In 2019, when Trilogy was acquired by 2U, Stacey was asked to lead the post-merger integration of 750+ global employees into the 2U team. Stacey’s work on the integration set a new standard for excellence of what a successful acquisition and integration could achieve. Since leaving 2U in May of 2019 Stacey has consulted with companies both large and small on operational strategy and strategic initiatives.

Prior to Trilogy, Stacey worked in the nonprofit space where she developed and implemented USAID-funded literacy programs East Africa. Stacey has a MA in Applied Linguistics and a BA in Theoretical Linguistics. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband and two sons. Her two favorite pastimes are running and reading. She completed her first marathon in November of 2021 and would love to tell you about what she’s currently reading!
